Reflections & Artifacts
The last standard underlines the need for teachers to keep up with the development of technology through lifelong professional learning. Technology renews itself almost every day and meanwhile, integrating new technology tools into teaching and learning never cease its pace. As a qualified teacher, one should follow the community to explore new educational applications and at the same time update their teaching methodologies. Scoopit artifact shows that teachers actively involve themselves in the community to be alerted with the newest technology products and teaching philosophy, which is useful for their professional development. Also, the thinglink artifact expands the meaning of a simple image to a complex project in which various multimedia elements can be combined in one image. Blogfolio, also, can be good evidence for showing teachers’ leadership since it’s the record of their daily teaching practices and reflections.
Future Learning Goals
According to the requirements of the standard, being a current teacher isn’t simple equivalent to the traditional role which only cares about classroom teaching. The existence of technology in education reminds me that in the future, I have to be frequently updated and at the same time, making sure that my students are receiving a qualified technology-enriched education. Attending conferences would be a good choice for me to exchange ideas with other teachers and learn from others’ presentations.
